MOHANLAL goes to SPAIN with Family

Mohanlal has taken a one month sabbatica break and is now in Spain. The actor has finished all work for his Marubhoomi Katha , which is now scheduled to release on December 16; Mohanlal is with his family and will spending time in Spain and later will also be going to Norway. The actor feels that he needs a break and wants to comeback rejuvenated after the short break. Meanwhile there is; a buzz is that he is going on a crash diet. He wants to lose some weight and look fit and mean to the role of a cop in his next film Grandmaster . B Unnikrishnan who is directing Grandmaster , an action packed thriller produced by UTV Motion pictures is trying his best to give Lal a new image. Mohanlal will definitely look like a tough and rough cop when he starts work on the film by December end.

EZHAM ARIVU in trouble >> HMK Protest against 7amArivu

The Hindu Makkal Katchi (HMK) is
protesting against AR Murgadoss
directed Suriya starrer 7aumArivu.
Their protest stems
from the fact that
the film's producers
agreed to cut to scenes glorifying
Tamils for the sake
of Sri Lankan censors.
The films pro-Tamil
scenes have been
cut by the SriLankan
censor board who
insisted on it for the film to be
screened in SriLanka.

Says Kannan
Secretary of HMK :
"Why did the
producers agree to this double
standards, at a
time when they were boasting that
the film highlights
Tamils and their culture..?"
The HMK plans to
organise protest
meetings and has
urged the makers of the film to take
corrective meausres.

Vijay was in Kochi a few days before the release of Velayutham for its official trailer launch. Vijay later told the media, "The kind of response I have received here is absolutely exciting. I just feel like being in Tamil Nadu considering the huge turnout of fans here." Among the three, it was Vijay who seemed to have won the Diwali race. Both Ra.One and 7 aum Arivu received mixed response while Velayudham is very entertaining. RA ONE Vs BODYGUARD box office collection thread

After failing to break the
opening day box office
record, Shahrukh Khan’s
‘Ra One’ has managed to
make history by breaking
the record for highest
ticket sales in one day. In
India alone the movie took
in Rs23 million on the
second day of its release.
‘Ra One’ which had the
largest release of any
movie to date can be seen
in 5,000 theatres across
the world and is the most
expensive India movie in
history.
The movie fell short of
breaking Salman Khan’s
‘Bodyguard’ opening day
record.
Salman Khan’s Bodyguard
had released on 2,700
screens on Eid screens
and had collected
Rs.21crores on it’s
opening day, with a total
five day collection of
about 80 crores
(estimated). In
comparison, Shahrukh
Khan’s Ra.One has
collected about Rs. 18.5
crores on it’s opening
day. Many still believe that
Ra.One movie will pick up
and surpass Bodyguard’s
five-day total.
Considering that Ra.One
has been mostly panned
by critics for its weak
screenplay, and with a
mixed reaction from the
audiences, it remains to
be seen just how long
Ra.One’s stellar run will
continue at the box office.

flick, 7aam Arivu hits
screens on Diwali day
with grand opening. The
expectations are on high
peak because of
Murugadoss-Suriya
combo who gave a
master hit like Ghajini. But
the super combo can't
repeat the history with
this epic movie.
7aam Arivu bags an
interesting stuff and
exciting thread, but the
dull screenplay makes the
movie down. One of the
main higlight is it shot
wonderfully than usual
tamil films. Also the
concept is fresh to
Kollywood,but the
screenplay makes
audience dull.
The film commenced with
in the backdrops of
1600years back. Suriya
appears as a prince
Bodhidharman of Pallava
region Kanchipuram. And
he journey to China and
changed as a priest for
helping the poor people
there from ailing diseases
and teaches them martial
arts. Bodhidharman dies
and buried in China. This
flashback sequence brings
alot action packed scenes
which can termed as one
of the best in Kollywood.
From next sequence
Suriya potrayed as
Aravind,a circus
performer. Shruthi
Hassan will joins with this
sequence as Shuba
Srinivasan, who works in
a DNA Recombinant
Technology centre and
her aim is to reback
Boddhidharman through
Aravind. Romantic scenes
and songs between
Aravind and Subha marks
negative to the film, it
looks like an attached one
to show some masala is
there! Songs and romance
clips have been inserted in
places where they are
unwarranted.
On that time the script
enters the villain Dong Lee
(Johnny Tri Nguyen) who
is appointed by Chinese
government to start off
Operation Red. His main
motto is to destroy India
through bio war. The
game between main
three; Aravind, Subha,
Dong Lee depicts the flick
'7arivu'.
7aam Arivu rides on
Suriya's star power,but
even his hardcore fans
will feel some missing. As
a side, Suriya excels as
Bodhidharman. But as
Aravind, the makers utilize
him more to show six
packed body and a
romantic one. He
breathed some life into the
film through the action
sequences. But what can
he do if the script is
lacklustre? Johnny Tri
Nguyen rocks as
tremedous villain. He is a
perfect choice for the role
of Dong Lee. Shruthi
Hassan is quite ok.
The technical team has
done a superb job, but
the main fault of the film
lies in its hackneyed and
boneless script. Ravi
Varman's camera work at
core excellent, but
unluckily tunes by Harris
Jayaraj is below average.
The action sequences are
well orchestrated by Peter
Hayne and Martials Arts
turns one of the positive
to the film.
Very little of 7aam Arivu
makes sense but the lack
of logic isn't the problem
here. Boredom is. When
the movie goes on and on
and on, emphasising on
unfulfilled promises,
seething anger , love and
frankly, you are least
bothered by now and will
lose interest in the
proceedings.
Overall 7aam Arivu is a
major disappointment for
all the hype it generated,
but its not an avoidable
one. Go without any
expectations,so only you
could feel its 'worth
watching once'.
Verdict: Average.

Ilayathalapathy Vijay
much awaited movie
"Velayudham" hits 105
screens in Kerala with
heavy welcome. M.Raja,
actor Jayam Ravi's
brother, who calls himself
the king of remakes, is
director and produced by
V. Ravichandran's Aascar
Films. The movie
distributed in Kerala
through Thameens
Release.
The movie thread begins
with a village backdrop,
where Vijay, his sister
Saranya Mohan and his
girlfriend Hansika Motwani
were living happily. As his
sister gets ready for her
marriage, he leaves to city
to withdraw the money
from the chit fund, where
he had deposited it long
back. Soon he realises that
it was a bogus company
and he has been cheated.
In a bid to seek revenge,
he took help of a journalist
played by Genelia, who
enlightens him about the
root cause of the
problem. How he turns
the vigilante and how he
punishes the criminals,
form the interesting part
of the Velayudham. While
the story has a strong
message, the filmmakers
have ensured to include all
the commercial elements
like love, romance, action,
social activities etc.
It is a film for Vijay's fans
who love their star to
dance with energy, fight
with enthusiasm and love
with mischief. He does all
this in his usual style.
Punchline dialogues,
songs glorifying hero find
their place in all
throughout the movie.
Genelia gives a sterling
performance. Hansika is
bubbly looking and there
for glamour and she is
promising. saranya
Mohan does her role well.
Comedy track of
Santhanam makes his
seat of comedy king more
stronger. M S Baskar,
Sathyan, Ilavarasu,
Vincent
Ashokan ,Raaghav lends
ample support.
M.Raja utilised Vijay's
action-hero image at
maximum level. From
song picturisation to
screenplay, Raja's efforts
are seen in every frame.
The graphic work is
mind-boggling. Vijay
Antony's music is peppy,
especially Chilaax..Chilax..
being pick to the core.
Priyan's camera and V. T.
Vijayan's editing are
fabulous. Climax action
sequence which are
choreographed by
Hollywood stuntman
Tom Delmar is notable.
"Velayudham" is designed
for mass-entertainer
lovers. Ilayadalapthy's
mass performance made
the movie extravaganza !
As a big break once;for
Rajinikanth Basha, for
Vijay its Velayudham !!
Overall, "Velayudham" is
entertainment guaranteed.
